The Practice Of Pausing

We are heading into a much anticipated time of year. One filled with socialising with friends and family, various festive activities and, for some, a break from work.

It is not uncommon, however, once this period is over, to hear people talking about how quickly the time has gone. Comments change from “I can’t believe it’s nearly Christmas!” To “How is Christmas over already?”. As social calendars and ‘To Do’ lists fill up over this period, it is easy to forget to pause and take some much needed time for ourselves.

As we move into December, think of ways to pause and live more consciously during this time. What elements of your practice are critical to maintaining to help you stay balanced?

Read our Conscious Christmas survival guide for ways to maintain balance, calm and awareness throughout the silly season and beyond.

12 Days Of Gratitude

Practising gratitude can have a tremendous effect on our mental health, helping us stay present, calm and connected. Taking stock of what we are thankful for helps us realise and appreciate even the smallest parts of our day. Even better, it is a simple and time effective exercise that can be quickly adopted and incorporated into our daily routines.

Set yourself a challenge this season and practise 12 days of gratitude. Each day write down one thing that you are thankful for. It can be anything from people in your life, a win at work or making the train on time.

You can use myhavetime for your gratitude journalling and capture your progress over the 12 days.
